Actresses proudly sport khaki!

They’re lean, they’re mean and they sure can beat the hell out of the bad guys. We’re talking about women cops, who Indian actresses are gung-ho about playing
To see a woman in uniform has always been a fantasy for most hot-blooded Indian men. While B-town actresses haven’t taken the leap to playing cop roles very often, down south, actresses have proudly sported khaki and beaten up the bad guys, sometimes doing a better job than their male counterparts. Think Malashree, who made a fortune out of these movies, or the more recent entrants into the trend — read Namitha, Bhavana and Sneha. BT asks men which other women they’d like to see as top cops.
Actresses Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra seem to be the hot choices, even for our boys in Bangalore. Model Karan Rao admits that Bangalore girl Deepika “would definitely look sexy in a tight khaki uniform. She’s got the body for it and I’m sure she can carry it off,” he says. Kollywood and Bollywood hero Ganesh Venkataraman shares Karan’s opinions and adds, “She has all the personality and raw sensuality to make a hot cop. She’s the perfect fit for such a role.”
Priyanka has her set of fans in Bangalore too and model Param is one of them. “After Don, I can’t think of any other woman in India who can pull off an action sequence like her, so she has to be the best choice,” says Param. Actor Santhosh adds, “She’s shown us what she can do in Drona and I feel she’d look amazing in khaki, so she’s definitely my choice. Let’s face it, she’s super-hot!” Model Ashokaditya agrees. “She looks fit enough for the role and she’s proved time and again that she’s an all-out action heroine, so why would anyone choose anyone else?” he tells us.
While Deepika and Priyanka have their fans, there are other contenders too. Bollywood actor Samir Soni feels Chitrangada Singh would make the perfect cop. “I’m not sure if she’d make the hottest cop, but she’d definitely fit the part best,” he tells us. Model Karan Medappa, however, prefers the super-chic Gul Panag. “She’s probably the only actress who can make an entry on a bike and still look hot! She manages to look amazing in short hair, and looks really smart too — what more can one ask for in a cop?” says Karan. Kannada actor Raghu Ramappa, however, prefers the more voluptuous Shilpa Shetty. “Her body seems perfect for the role, and I have always wanted to see her as a woman in khaki, so she’s definitely my choice,” he says.
